Chen Wei Teng — Senior Educational Therapist

Wei Teng is an experienced Senior Educational Therapist with more than 20 years of experience supporting children and adolescents with literacy and English-language difficulties. A former journalist, she found her calling in education through helping young learners build the skills and confidence needed to make meaningful progress.

During her 11 years at NorthLight School, Wei Teng supported at-risk youths facing motivational and learning challenges, including dyslexia and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Previously, as a Senior Educational Therapist at the Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS), she helped lead the development of literacy curriculum frameworks for dyslexic learners across speaking, listening, writing and grammar. She also contributed to teacher-training programmes.

Drawing on her Diploma in Dyslexia Studies and comprehensive training in the Orton-Gillingham approach, Wei Teng provides structured literacy support tailored to each learner’s needs. She is a Fellow of the Register of Educational Therapists (Asia) and an adjunct lecturer with DAS Academy, where she equips practitioners to support learners with specific learning differences.

Her commitment to education extends into the community. Wei Teng has trained and mentored literacy volunteers and used storytelling to promote inclusion, harmony and care for the environment. Her broad experience helps her connect with learners who may have struggled in conventional settings, while making literacy learning purposeful, engaging and empowering.
