Senior Educational Therapist
Cherie Chiam — Senior Educational Therapist

Cherie is an experienced Senior Educational Therapist with more than 12 years of experience supporting children from preschool through secondary school. She works with children with dyslexia, ADHD, autism and other learning or developmental needs, helping them strengthen literacy, classroom participation, social skills and confidence.

Her experience includes supporting primary and secondary students at the Dyslexia Association of Singapore, as well as providing early intervention through children’s therapy and developmental support programmes. Cherie conducts screenings and classroom observations, develops Individualised Education Plans and delivers both individual and group intervention. She also collaborates closely with parents, teachers and clinical professionals to identify each child’s needs and develop practical support strategies.

Cherie specialises in the Orton-Gillingham approach and Jolly Phonics. She uses structured, multisensory and concept-driven teaching to make phonics and literacy engaging while helping children achieve steady progress. Her familiarity with Singapore’s mainstream-school curriculum enables her to align intervention with classroom expectations while adapting lessons to each child’s learning pace. Her broader experience includes social skills groups, behaviour management and mentoring other educators and therapists.

Guided by her philosophy, “Every Child, A Different Pace”, Cherie believes meaningful progress begins with understanding the individual learner. She seeks to create supportive learning experiences that help children recognise their strengths, develop confidence and build skills for lasting academic and personal growth.
